Does size matter? Is bigger better?

Thats an age old question isn’t it?  I’m here to help answer that question…well, about wall prints anyway!

A photographer friend of mine, Salome, from Salome Photography out of Indiana shared her blog post with me and I thought it was

so great that I had to share it with you (with her permission of course)!

And as you’ll see, bigger is definitely better when it comes to putting pictures on your walls!

One of the hardest things I think for anyone after their photo session is WHAT to do with all of those amazing photos?   What will look good, how to arrange photos in a way that is pleasing, and actually how BIG will an 8×10 or 11×14 canvass look in perspective to your room?

So, to help out I created this handy little perspective guide for everyone!!   I was actually amazed myself in the difference that size can make in a print.   I call 8×10 prints and smaller “gift prints”, because as you will see, they may be great on a desk, or on your nightstand, but when placed as a family canvas or print on the wall…that’s another story.

You have wisely invest time and money into your photos and art, now display them proudly and show off what you’ve got! 🙂

The first set of photos are to show you sizes from 5×7, 8×10, 11×14 and up and what they look like in relation to a standard medium width sofa….

Whew.. that kind of makes me want to go get a 30 x 40 for the living room!   I want people to SEE my photo when the walk into the room.. no more walking over, nose distance just to see my beautiful portrait that I worked so hard to get!
The next two images are groupings and how you can make different sizes work to your advantage to fill a room and create balance and joy! 🙂
